XDCC Catcher Pro contains a lot of
features which aren't available in XDCC Catcher Basic. Almost all of these
features are listed below with a short description. (Of course, XDCC
Catcher Pro has all features of XDCC Catcher
Basic as well.)

Some bots support XDCC List
requests: when you send a private message 'xdcc list' to the bot, it
sends you the list of all packs of the bot to you. If you don't want to
send a XDCC List request, you should wait till the bot posts a public
XDCC List in the channel. XDCC List requests are useful when you
immediately want the list of all packs of a bot.
You can easily add XDCC List
requests with XDCC Catcher. XDCC Catcher sends a private message 'xdcc
list' to the bot and adds the response (all packs of the bot) to the list of all your packets
(Packet list). If the XDCC List request is denied, XDCC Catcher stops
requesting and changes the status of the request to Denied. If the bot
is currently offline, XDCC Catcher continues requesting a XDCC List till
the bot is online. In general, XDCC Catcher continues requesting a XDCC
List till the bot responses.

Usually, XDCC
Catcher makes a backup queue file everytime you modify your local queue.
With the Restore Queue dialog, it's very easy to restore (backup)
queues. If you restore a queue, the packs in the queue file are added to
your local queue and the file itself is removed.

Each bot has an individual bot score: a number which
indicates how fast and reliable the bot is. Bot scores are listed in both
the Packet list and the Search results (last column). If you should
choose between several bots with same files, choose the bot with the
highest bot score.

The Recent
finished files list contains the last ten files you downloaded. By
pressing an item, the file opens. If you choose Clear, all items are
removed from the list.

When you resume a
file from another bot than the initial bot, you'll never be sure if the
file of the last bot isn't slightly different from the initial one. With
rollback check you can be 99,9% sure. Usually, XDCC Catcher does a
rollback of 8192 bytes when it resumes a DCC transfer (for example, the
file on your hard disk is 18192 bytes big, XDCC Catcher starts
downloading from 10001 bytes and overwrite the bytes 10001 - 18192 with
the "new" bytes). Earlier, this method was only used to prevent "usual"
corrupted bytes (the last bytes of a DCC transfer can be corrupted, this
is normal behaviour). But with rollback check, XDCC Catcher checks as
well if the first half bytes of the rollback (10001 - 14096) of the
"new" transfer are equal to the corresponding bytes (10001 - 14096) of
the file on your hard disk. If they aren't equal, your download would
become corrupted (because the "new" file is different from the file on
your hard disk), therefore Catcher cancels the transfer and sets the
status of your request to Fatal. If they are equal, Catcher just starts
downloading. So, rollback check will make it very unlikely you'll ever
get corrupt downloads again!

Network
lists contain networks, servers and channels. With XDCC Catcher Pro
you're able to have several network lists, for example one for MP3,
one for games, one for software, etc.
In the Network lists dialog, you can create new network lists, load
network lists, make a network list default (so XDCC Catcher loads
this network list on startup), delete and duplicate network lists.
If you select 'Display on startup', XDCC Catcher shows the Network
lists dialog every time you start XDCC Catcher. In this way, you can
select what network list you would like to load on startup (for
example, if you're going to download software, you load the software
network list). |

You can remote control XDCC Catcher by
sending specific messages by e-mail. XDCC Catcher parses these messages
and executes the commands you've sent. XDCC Catcher replies the results
of your commands. (For security reasons, you've to send a code to identify
yourself.)
The mail address XDCC Catcher has to check
for "XDCC Catcher control messages" can be entered in the Settings
dialog. Please read the 'Control XDCC Catcher by mail' section in the
Pro manual (included in the Pro setup package) for more information and
a list of all available commands.

The Search bar
lets you search easily and fast on three XDCC search engines (XDCCZ,
Packetnews and IRCSpy), Google and in the Packet list (bot, description,
network and channel).

Some channels and bots require identified registered nicks to join
the channel or to get a file from the bot. Most networks use a NickServ
server to register and identify nicks. With XDCC Catcher it's very easy
to identify and register nicks. Also, XDCC Catcher has the option to
automatically identify your nick when you're connected to a network
(perform on connect).

Some channels
really need your attention, for example because the channel is closed or
you need to identify to a registered nick to join the channel. All these channels are
listed on the Attention needed channels tab.

Three advanced
queue preferences are available in XDCC Catcher Pro: Exit when finished,
Shutdown when finished and Auto-clear requests.
If you select
Exit when finished, XDCC Catcher closes when all requests in your local
queue have been finished.
By checking
Shutdown when finished, XDCC Catcher shutdowns your computer after all
requests have been finished.
Finished
requests are automatically removed from your local queue, if Auto-clear
is checked.

| XDCC
Catcher Pro has an internal web browser, based on Internet Explorer.
You can use this browser to easily add packs from XDCC search
engines to your local queue or to just surf on the web. A popup
blocker is included. |

| If you
check this option (network menu), XDCC Catcher reconnects the
network on a (not forced) disconnect. |

You enter the
private message by yourself. Private messages can only be sent to bots
in your Packet list.

An advanced user
guide (English) is included in the XDCC Catcher Pro setup package. This
user guide covers all features of XDCC Catcher Pro and includes a quick
start and a brief introduction to IRC and XDCC. After you've read this
manual, you know everything about XDCC Catcher. It's recommended to read
at least the quick start, in which the most important and exciting
features of XDCC Catcher Pro are explained.

As a Pro user,
you can contact Technical support for free. Technical support answers
all your questions and fixes most of your bugs. You'll always get a
personal answer to your question. Technical support tries to respond
